Hi There!
Getting into art has become really popular for feeling better overall. Doing art helps with lots of mental health stuff and emotions.
The cool part is, it lets you express yourself without talking. Making art is like finding your own way to heal and discover more about yourself.
Art goes beyond just strokes and colours, resonating with who we are. As we look into artistic expression, it's clear that art does more than just look good – it benefits us in various ways. It sparks creativity, provides comfort, and shapes who we are and the communities we belong to.
In the darkest of times, when life's challenges seem overwhelming and despair threatens to engulf us, it can be easy to lose sight of hope. We've all been there, trapped in the suffocating tunnel of uncertainty, feeling stuck and powerless. But it's essential to remember that even in the bleakest moments, there is always a glimmer of light, a beacon of hope that can guide us towards a brighter future.
This is exactly how I felt after the Turkish earthquake in February 2023. I was numb with pain as I watched my fellow countrymen and women perish on TV, all from the comfort of my warm home in the UK. My family was fortunate to be alive, but their home was badly damaged. I healed my soul through art, and I created a series called "The Light At The End Of The Tunnel". With each painting, I discovered a little hope, a little comfort, and a faint glimmer of light at the end of each tunnel. This is one of the first one that I completed. I started in March last year and finished in July and had to paint over and tweak 3 times. The first version was too painful to look and I didn't want anyone to have it in their home. So I painted over and over until I was happy.
It is called 'A Glimpse of Hope' 60cm x 60cm
